what's on

Here at Wycombe Museum, on top of our permanent and changing exhibitions we also have an exciting events program – some of it is regular, recurring sessions, and some are one-offs or seasonal events. Find out more below about our highlights and regulars, and be sure to check our events page for more information about all of our events – individual and recurring, plus detailed blurbs and booking info for all. Big Days Out

With previous sessions seeing the Museum transported back in time for a Medieval Fun Day, transformed into a haven for creepy crawlies for our Big Buganza Day Out, and a creative wonderland for a Family Arts Festival, what will be next for our Big Days Out? Perfect for all the family, Big Days Out can offer anything from dressing up to story-telling, craft sessions and delicious food – sometimes even wildlife! Check our events listings too see what we’ll do next…

 Thursday Night Lates

On the last Thursday of every month, the Museum extends its opening hours! Open until 9:30pm, our Thursday Night Lates workshops and talks run in the evenings with new themes for each monthly session – previous Lates have included live music, showcasing local produce, and crafting evenings. Check our listings for our next themes, or just take advantage of this extra time to browse the galleries and exhibitions – entry, as always, is FREE!

 Tiny Talk Time

With sessions morning and afternoon on the alternate Fridays, this special time for 2 to 4 year-olds includes stories, singing and nursery rhymes, craft activities, and trails around the Museum. What better way to spend some quality time with your little ones? Each session’s activities are based around a different well-loved story, which you can check on our listings page. There you’ll also find booking info – sessions can fill up fast, so book to avoid disappointment!

From crochet to silverpoint, photography to felting, the Museum hosts a variety of crafting workshops and courses for adults and children lead by local crafters and artists. Whether you’re a novice or a pro, you’re sure to find the perfect medium to unleash your creativity! See our events page for more details about what sessions we have on offer, plus price listings and booking info.

Lunch and Learn

lunch and learn

Discover hidden histories with our talks, running the first Thursday of every month. Lead by Museum staff and local historians, these sessions offer a unique opportunity to learn about the Museum, local history, and old customs from the experts. It’s a time to view item from the collection normally kept in storage, chat about local history, and learn something new over lunch! Bring your own or show your ticket in the cafe for a 10% discount.

Roll a Six

There’s possibly nothing better than a good board game with friends and family on a Sunday afternoon, and our cosy cafe is stocked with games for all ages. Play some of our classics or bring your own cards, boards, and dice to play – and why not grab a slice of our homemade cake and a hot chocolate while you’re here? Check our events page for dates.
